Kaleidoscope AUDITIONS for 11-18yrs
5-7pm, Wednesday 16th March 2022
Wallands School
Lots of roles available in the comedy - TEECHERS by John Godber
There’s no need to prepare anything prior to our fun Audition Workshop. The directors, Robyn and Betty will introduce the play to everyone, lead some warm up games and then students will have the opportunity to work on sections of script with others. There may be some recalls to a second audition.
TEECHERS will be performed in front of an audience at a local venue in October 2022.
Rehearsals for the show will be 5-7pm on Wednesdays at Wallands School, from 20th April to October 2022 with a break over the Summer holidays to learn lines.
Anyone who is offered a role in the play would be required to join Kaleidoscope Youth Theatre which has a termly fee (see our Timetable page for details). There will also be a production fee of £25 to cover all costume and technical costs for the show.
We offer a low income discount and a number of FREE bursary places to allow every young person the opportunity of being in a superb show with professional standards - no matter what the family finances are.
Being involved in a Kaleidoscope show is a big commitment. Actors will be required to attend every rehearsal on Wednesday evenings, as well as technical and dress rehearsals later on. Actors will also need to learn their lines!
It will be a fantastic opportunity - a chance to gain acting experience at an advanced level, improve confidence and work like a professional theatre company with other young people. Participants would need 100% commitment and 100% focus during rehearsals.
About Teechers
Teechers is a hilarious insight into life at school, told by its students! It’s a play within a play. Three students put on a performance for their teachers. School leavers, Salty, Hobby and Gail Saunders perform an account of their time in High School. They are particularly inspired by their time with Mr. Jeff Nixon, the new drama teacher who ignited their passion for the stage with his idealism and belief that all children should be treated equally.

‘…it was definitely a lot more grown up than previous shows – like we were watching proper actors, not just coming along to our kids show..’ L. Billington
