'We all loved the Summer School – such a feat in a short space of time! It was so well thought out and the children all performed brilliantly, clearly enjoying the experience and working as a team. Both of my children (5 and 11) want to return to Summer School again next year. Thank you Kaleidoscope!'   Sally Jones (Parent)

Summer School Information

This year we're excited to announce that our Summer School theme is Harry Potter. We've wanted to work on this story for years and we can't wait to begin!
You can book your child/children for one week or for both weeks (at a discounted rate). It's also possible to book single days as well.
Week 1: An exciting creative week where we explore the characters and the story of the first book - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Week 2:  We will shape the work into a fabulous performance for family and friends on Friday 9th August.
Participants be divided into smaller groups according to their age: 5-7 yrs, 7-11 yrs and 11-16 yrs.
Our fun-loving team of theatre professionals will lead creative workshops for each group in Puppetry, Drama, Dance, Singing, Musical Theatre and Production Art. Everyone will learn new skills, work as a team and have lots of fun along the way.
A typical Summer School day starts with each class enjoying an outdoor treasure hunt in the beautiful grounds of Priory School, this is followed by some lively Drama warm up games which help break the ice and allow everyone to get to know each other a little better and make new friends. Children/young people will then enjoy a series of performing arts workshops led by our team. If the weather is fine, we all have lunch together under the shade of the trees. After lunch we have afternoon workshops and we end each day with a games session.
Older students are encouraged to work at a more challenging level so they experience a real taste of the world of theatre.
Younger children have longer breaks, more games and can work at their own level.
The activities are all structured to help boost confidence in every child/young person. All workshops are delivered by our enthusiastic team of specilaist teachers and our experienced teaching assistants.
Our whole team love working creatively with children and young people who are fully supervised from the moment they arrive, until they leave. All of our staff have Enhanced DBS certificates and all of our teachers are first-aid trained.
The Summer Schools are very likely to sell out - so we suggest you book as soon as you can to ensure your child doesn't miss out.
We will be applying for some funding and hope to be able to offer a limited number of free weekly places to children who have free school dinners or have special needs - we will announce free funded places if we are successful. The free weekly places are likely to go very fast. Unfortunatley we cannot offer free places for children booking single days, but we can offer a low income discount for families on UC.

EARLY BOOKING FEE:

£215 one week
£390 two weeks (works out £195 a week)
Low Income Rate for families on UC:
