Summer School

Summer School - Lewes 2021

Monday 2nd to Friday 6th August

10am - 3.30pm

  • 5-11yrs: The Pirates Next Door  - based on the hilarious book by Jonny Duddle.

  • 11-16 yrs: The Red Balloon - based on Albert Lamorisse's exquisite french film.

'We all loved the Summer School – such a feat in a short space of time! It was so well thought out and the children all performed brilliantly, clearly enjoying the experience and working as a team. Both of my children (5 and 11) want to return to Summer School again next year. Thank you Kaleidoscope!'   Sally Jones (Parent)

Kaleidoscope’s Theatre Summer School will be at Priory School. Once again participants will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of theatre and arts professionals, developing their creativity and learning new performance skills.

There will be lots of performing arts activities in large well ventilated spaces and access to the beautiful outdoor grounds at Priory School.

Each group will create a fabulous film of their work which we will release on our new Kaleidoscope Youtube Channel for the children, young people, parents and grandparents to watch. Something to be treasured forever!

A typical day starts with fun Drama warm up games and then participants explore Drama, Dance and Art in workshops led by specialist teachers. Older students are encouraged to work at a more challenging level so they experience a real taste of what it's like to work in a theatre or film company, while younger children have longer breaks, more games and can work at their own level. Each class is supported by our team of enthusiastic Teaching Assistants. As the week progresses, the children develop their confidence and there are plenty of opportunities to make new friends.

The Summer School is likely to sell out very quickly - we are already 50% booked, so we suggest you book as soon as you can to ensure you don't miss out. Our whole team love working creatively with the children and young people and we are looking forward to this year's Summer School.

Participants are fully supervised from the moment they arrive until they leave. All our staff have Enhanced DBS certificates.
